Clarence Mingo's life and career have been about service to his country, community and family. As Franklin County Auditor, Clarence is prepared to lead and to serve as he always has, with integrity and honor.

U.S. Army Gulf War Veteran:
After high school graduation, Clarence entered the United States Army and served honorably in liberating Kuwait during the 1991 Persian Gulf War.

Ohio State University Undergraduate and Law School Graduate:
When his military service concluded, Clarence entered the Ohio State University, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in three years, then earned his law degree from the Moritz (Ohio State University) College of Law in two and half years.

Protecting Children and the Poor:
After completing his legal studies and being admitted to the Ohio Bar, Clarence began his private legal practice protecting children in abusive situations, serving as a Guardian ad Litem in Domestic and Juvenile law cases.

He also volunteered for the Legal Aid Society of Columbus' Neighborhood Services project where he helped indigent county residents with legal issues involving housing, public benefits, bankruptcy, expungements, civil protective orders, and custody matters.

Protecting Victim's Rights:
In 2007, the Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, Thomas J. Moyer, appointed Clarence as Commissioner in the Ohio Court of Claims, administering cash awards to victims of crime from the Supreme Court's victims of crime fund.

Protecting Taxpayers:
As Franklin County Auditor, Clarence will make sure that all taxes are measured fairly and accurately, and respond to citizens' requests for more information about their tax status and their legal rights in every economic circumstance, including foreclosure.
